Kendriya Vidyalayas are highly affordable and co-curricular oriented schools in India. Moreover, they are managed by Central Government of India. Hundreds of KV schools are available across the country. They are unique in admissions and other activities. These schools follow CBSE syllabus and books published by NCERT. Age criteria of KVs is same for all Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools. According to the KVS guidelines, a child must be 5 years old as on 31st March in the academic year in which admission is sought for Class I. It should be noted that a child born on 1st April also be considered for admission. The schools are run and managed by the department of school education, ministry of human resources development of government of India. Following is the admission procedure of Kendriya Vidyalayas. KVs follow unique admission process across the country. The main concern of KVs is providing school education to transferable and non transferable central government employees and children of defence personnel. The admission process of KVs starts in February – March every year. The age of the child should be 5 years at the time of the admission. The KVs laid down detailed priority list of the children. Children of defence personnel get top priority in admissions. There are provisions for Central and state government employees children and single girl child.
